DEEPAVALI CELEBRATION –FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS


Deepavali is popularly known as  “Festival of Lights” and it marks the start of the Hindu New year.It is the festival of Joy,happiness,fireworks and sweets.During the celebration , the children were all dressed up in their traditional and colourful dresses like Saree , Pattu Pavadai , Kurtha , Salwar Khameez, etc.They were told the story behind the festival of Deepavali .How Prince Rama rescue  his wife Sita who is kidnapped by the ten headed demon Ravana.

The children were introduced to traditional Indian Snacks like Murukku , Seedai , Laddu ,etc. The teachers also showed them how to make rangoli out of coloured rice and flowers with diyas lighted in between.


They also enjoyed dancing for a traditional Indian music.The children enjoyed having their favourite pattern of mehndi in their hands .
